
Constance Marie Lopez (born September 9th, 1965)[1] is an American actress. She is best known for her role in the film Selena as Angie Lopez in George Lopez (2002-2007), and Marcela Quintanilla (mother of Selena) in the movie Selena (1997). She portrayed Regina Vasquez in the ABC Family/Freeform drama series Switched at Birth (2011-2017). She currently plays Camila Diaz on the drama series on Amazon Prime Video Undone (2019). Marie began her acting career in her teenage years. In 1988, she got her first role in Salsa. Other television and film credits include Early Edition, Dirty Dancing, Selena, Spin City and Ally McBeal. Marie was selected for the role of Angie Lopez in ABC's comedy series George Lopez. In 2001, Marie starred in the comedy-drama film Tortilla Soup alongside Hector Elizondo, Jacqueline Obradors, and Elizabeth Pena. She was also a part of the PBS drama American Family. Her own line of clothing, "The Constance Marie collection", was launched in the month of October. She also appeared in an advertisement for PETA that year encouraging pet owners to spay and neuter their animals. [3] Marie was the main character in Switched at Birth on ABC Family/Freeform from 2011 until 2017. She played Regina Vasquez (the birth mother of one and the legal mother of another).
